Next, you’ll enter your name, email and phone number to be included in the $1,200 cash giveaway contest. Simple as that!
Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite
If you prefer cash back to travel rewards, and you spend more than $2,000 a month on your credit card, the Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite is the top cash back credit card in Canada.
You’ll get a whopping 4% cash back on your grocery and gas spending, plus 2% cash back on recurring bill payments and pharmacy purchases. You’ll get 1% back on all your other spending. The card comes with a $99 annual fee and a 19.99% interest rate on purchases.
It’s important to note that you’ll need to have individual annual income of $60,000 or household annual income of $100,000 to get approved for the Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite card.
Unlike most credit card companies, Scotia will require proof of income, which means once your initial application is approved you’ll need to fax in (or drop off) a recent pay stub to complete the approval process.
Scotiabank Gold American Express Card
For travel rewards fans, the Scotiabank Gold American Express card gives you four points for every dollar spent on groceries, gas, dining and entertainment. It comes with a $99 annual fee, but you’ll get 20,000 bonus points with your first purchase – worth $200 in travel rewards.
You can purchase travel on your card from any travel provider – not just through the Scotia rewards travel centre – and you can redeem points for a complete trip, including taxes and surcharges.
Scotiabank Value Visa Card
If you carry a balance on your credit card from month to month, consider switching to the Scotiabank Value Visa card. This card has a 0.99% interest rate on balance transfers for six months, and then a low 11.99% interest rate afterwards.
There’s a $29 annual fee, but the amount you’ll save in credit card interest makes it worthwhile.
I love these promos from Rate Supermarket! This was just the incentive I needed to complete my transition away from using the MBNA Smart Cash MasterCard.
I signed up for the Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite and now my new cash back strategy is to use the Momentum Visa Infinite for all my grocery and gas spending, plus for recurring bill payments and pharmacy purchases. Then I’ll use the Capital One Aspire Cash World MasterCard for any ‘other’ spending categories.
